An Act to amend the Universities and University Colleges Act 1971. [ ] ENACTED by the Parliament of Malaysia as follows: Short title and commencement

Section 1

(2)

This Act comes into operation on a date to be appointed by the Minister by notification in the Gazette.

Amendment of section 15

Section 2

The Universities and University Colleges Act 1971 [Act 30], which is referred to as the “principal Act” in this Act, is amended in subsection 15(2)—

(a)

in paragraph (a), by inserting after the semicolon at the end of the paragraph the word “or”;

(b)

in paragraph (b), by substituting for the words “; or” a full stop; and

(c)

by deleting paragraph (c).

Saving

Section 3

All disciplinary actions against any student of a University relating to the matter referred to in paragraph 15(2)(c) of the principal Act which are pending before the disciplinary authority immediately before the commencement of this Act shall, on the date of coming into operation of this Act, be discontinued.
