Section 1
This Enactment may be cited as the Community Development Leaders Enactment 1981 and shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st day April 1981.

This Enactment may be cited as the Community Development Leaders Enactment 1981 and shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st day April 1981.
Appointment of Community Development Leaders.
The Chief Minister may in his discretion appoint such number of persons as he may think fit to be Community Development Leaders and may, at any time and without assigning any reason therefor, terminate any such appointment.
A person appointed to be a Community Development Leader shall vacate his office-
if his appointment is terminated under the provisions of subsection (1) of this section;
if he resigns from his office by writing under his hand addressed to the

Chief Minister; or
(Repealed).
Duties of Community Development Leaders.
The duties and functions of a Community Development Leader shall be exclusively political in nature and shall in no circumstances extent to the taking of any action in connection with the functioning or administration of any department of the Government or with any matter falling to be dealt with by the officer of any such department.
Subject to the provisions of subsection (1), the duties and functions of a
Community Development Leader shall be such as may be determined by the Chief Minister from time to time and shall be executed and performed by him in accordance with the directions of the Chief Minister.
Remuneration of Community Development Leader.
A person appointed as Community Development Leader shall receive a monthly salary of one thousand five hundred ringgit.
The salary payable to any person under subsection (1) of this section shall-
be payable monthly from the last day of each month or on such other day as the Minister responsible for finance may from time to time determine.
Additional privileges.
Community Development Leaders shall, in additional to the salary payable under section 5 of this Enactment, be entitled to such allowances and privileges as may be

determined by the Cabinet from time to time:
Provided that if any person is entitled to any allowance or privilege provided under this
Enactment and is also entitled to the same or any similar allowance or privilege by virtue of any other office held by him he shall be entitled to receive such of those allowances or privileges which is most favourable to him.
Provision for payment.
Any monies payable by virtue of this Enactment shall unless otherwise specified, be paid out of monies provided by the Legislative Assembly.
