REDEMPTORIST FATHERS (INCORPORATION) ACT 1962

The Corporation may sue and be sued in its name and do all other matters and things incidental or appertaining to a body corporate.

The Corporation may—

enter into contracts;

acquire, purchase, take hold and enjoy movable and immovable property of every description; and

convey, transfer, assign, surrender and yield up, charge, mortgage, demise, reassign or otherwise dispose of, or deal with, any movable or immovable property vested in the Corporation, upon such terms as the Corporation thinks fit.

Common seal

No deed, document or other instrument sealed with the seal of the Corporation shall be deemed to be duly sealed unless—

the seal has been affixed in the presence of Reverend

Father Gregory Dobson or of his successor in office, as the case may be, or of the attorney of either of them, duly authorized by a power of attorney registered under the Powers of Attorney Act 1949 [Act 424]; and

the deed, document or other instrument is signed by

Reverend Father Gregory Dobson or his successor or by the attorney of either of them.

The signing of the deed, document or other instrument shall be sufficient evidence of the due sealing of such deed, document or other instruments.

Notification of appointment of Titular Superior

The property referred to in subsection (1) together with all after-acquired property movable or immovable, all subscriptions, contributions, donations, fines, amounts of loans and advances received or to be received shall be held by the Corporation for the purposes of this Act and subject to the rules for the time being of the Corporation.

Payment of debts and liabilities

All debts due to and subscriptions and contributions payable to the Titular Superior shall be paid to the Corporation for the purposes of this Act.
