  1. An Ordinance to provide for the exercise of additional functions of the Public Service Commission. [1st July, 2000] Enacted by the Legislature of Sarawak— Short title and commencement

Section 1

This Ordinance may be cited as the Public Service

Commission (Additional Functions) Ordinance, 2001, and shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st day of July, 2000.

Section 2

Interpretation

“Commission” means the Public Service Commission of the

State of Sarawak constituted under Article 35 of the Constitution;

“Constitution” means the Constitution of the State of

Sarawak;

“local authority” shall have the same meaning assigned to it in the Local Authorities Ordinance, 1996 [Cap. 20].

Additional functions of the Commission

The Yang di-Pertua Negeri may, by Order published in the

Gazette, confer such additional powers and functions as may be prescribed on the Commission relating to the appointment, confirmation, promotion and exercise of disciplinary control over officers and employees of any other corporation or body established or constituted by State law.

Any Order made under subsection (2) shall be laid before the Dewan Undangan Negeri.

The Commission may, by direction in writing and subject to such conditions as it thinks fit, delegate to any person, or to any board consisting of at least one member of the Commission and such other persons appointed by it, any of its additional powers and functions conferred by this Ordinance, and that person or board shall exercise those powers and functions under the direction and control of the Commission.
