Pada menjalankan kuasa yang diberikan oleh subseksyen 3(i) Enakmen Rizab Melayu, Menteri Besar Pahang mengisytiharkan tanah seluas 16.30 hektar, Mukim Sungai Karang, Daerah Kuantan yang ditandakan di atas Pelan Ukur No. P.W. 5190 yang disimpan di Pejabat Pengarah Ukur dan Pemetaan Pahang menjadi Kawasan Simpanan Melayu yang dikenali sebagai Kawasan Simpanan Melayu Cherating (Tambahan).
