The Consumer Protection Act 1999 [Act 599], which is referred to as the “principal Act” in this Act, is amended in subsection 98(1)
by substituting for the words “twenty-five thousand ringgit”
the words “fifty thousand ringgit”.

Amendment of section 100
Subsection 100(1) of the principal Act is amended by substituting for the words “twenty-five thousand ringgit” the words “fifty thousand ringgit”.
Amendment of section 101
Subsection 101(1) of the principal Act is amended by substituting for the words “twenty-five thousand ringgit” the words “fifty thousand ringgit”.
Amendment of section 117
in subsection (1), by substituting for the words “five thousand ringgit” the words “ten thousand ringgit”; and
in subsection (2), by substituting for the words “be liable to a fine not exceeding one thousand ringgit” the words
“be liable to a fine of not less than one hundred ringgit and not exceeding five thousand ringgit”.
